What is a Prepaid Funeral Plan?
Marsden Building Society’s prepaid funeral plans launched last year, with members now having access to dedicated funeral plan specialists in their 8 branches across Lancashire.
The Marsden have been providing savings and mortgages to their members since 1860, and have now introduced prepaid funeral plans to compliment the services they provide. With the cost of funerals rising each year, fixing the cost of your funeral protects you from rising funeral costs, helping you leave more behind for your loved ones.
The funeral plans are provided by Dignity, one of the UK’s leading providers of funeral plans and funeral-related services. The plan exists to help you save money by paying at today’s prices and avoid paying more in future.
Anyone over the age of 50 can take out a prepaid funeral plan, with no medical questions, which means you are guaranteed to fix the price of your funeral, either by paying a lump sum, or spreading the cost with monthly instalments.
Rob Pheasey, Chief Executive at Marsden Building Society, said, ‘We chose to extend our services to funeral plans as we wanted to ensure our members are cared for in their later life. As a trusted building society, we want to help protect families from emotional and financial stress by making their wishes known and get their affairs in order. ‘
‘We are inviting our members to visit a branch for an informal chat or book an appointment with a Dignity representative, whichever is most comfortable. It may not be an easy subject, but having a conversation with our branch teams can make the process easier and give you all the information you need to help protect you and your family in future.’
