Your AGM 2021
This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Wednesday 28 April 2021, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions still in place, we’ll be running it a little differently this year to keep you and our colleagues safe. Keep reading to find out what that means for you, including how to place your vote, ask questions, and more…
Your safety and that of our colleagues is important to us. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions still in place, unfortunately, members will not be able to attend the AGM in person. To make sure we still meet the numbers required to form a quorum, Directors and colleagues who are members will be asked to attend the Meeting, and we’ll put all the necessary measures in place to help keep them safe.
Although you won’t be able to attend, you’ll still have an opportunity to have your say by voting or submitting questions you may have for our Board of Directors.
Being a member of the Marsden means you have a say in how your Society is run and you can do this by voting on the resolutions and Directors.
Voting in our AGM supports not only our ambition to grow as a mutual, but our commitment to help our local communities too. This year, for each vote we receive, we’ll donate 50p to the Community Foundation for Lancashire’s Red Rose Responding Fund which supports the mental health and wellbeing of people in Lancashire who may be facing a range of issues as a result of the pandemic.
How to vote
We’d normally offer you the chance to vote in branch, however, our branches are currently open for essential transactions only, so this year, with safety in mind, we’re asking you to vote online or by post.
If you’d like to vote online, you can do so by visiting our voting site. Your login details can be found in your voting pack, or if you received your pack by email, click straight through from there to log in. Online voting closes at midnight on Monday 26 April 2021.
Voting by post
In your postal pack, you’ll receive your voting form and a prepaid envelope. Fill in your form as you wish, sign it, then pop it back into the post by Wednesday 21 April 2021.
Submitting your questions
If you have questions to ask our Board, you’ll need to submit them by emailing AGM@themarsden.co.uk or writing to AGM, Marsden Building Society, 6-20 Russell Street, Nelson, BB9 7NJ.
The answers to all questions raised will be shown on our website after the meeting and we will also reply personally to each member raising a question. Any questions you have must be received by 5pm on Monday 26 April 2021.
