My time at the Marsden…

“I came to the Marsden Building Society for work experience and returned once I’d completed my A levels beginning my journey at the Marsden in 2000. My first role was on the branch counter working with savings moving shortly after to become a mortgage advisor. The Marsden have supported my development and training and I have achieved qualifications in Financial Services throughout my career supporting my role and helping me deliver. My role is completely varied dealing with Retail, Investor Relationships and Customer Data analytics and also Finance and Treasury too, meaning that every day is different to the next. It’s fast paced, challenging and very rewarding."

My time at the Marsden…

"I have spent thirty four years working for the Marsden, beginning as a trainee programmer/operator. The Society has supported me through qualifications to contribute to my roles, including CeFSP, CeMap, Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Community and NVQ Level 3 in Management. I now work as the Business Integration Manager which involves IT Applications support, testing and training and project management of internal and external projects.

I love my job, meeting new people is really interesting and I like the challenge I’m faced with when completing projects and implementing new systems."

My time at the Marsden…

"When I started working at Marsden Building Society in 2005 as a Branch Customer Services Assistant I was keen to progress.  After three years of learning about the Society and what was needed to run a successful branch I decided to apply for a manager’s position at Barrowford. Since then, I have become CeRGI qualified and gained NVQ qualifications in management and team leadership and I am now the branch manager of our flagship branch.

There is always a challenge at the Marsden and something to work towards, just last year I skydived from 15,000ft to support our affinity charity, North West Air Ambulance - raising over £2,000 with the help of staff and customers. So, whether it’s helping staff members achieve the Society’s goals or making a difference to a member’s day, dealing with people is by far the best part of my job!"

My time at the Marsden…

"My role at the Society involves helping out in the finance function; I particularly enjoy the variation that comes with my job and working as part of a team. During my first year of working at the Society I achieved my Level 2 AAT qualification and have completed my AAT Level 4. My accounting techniques have greatly improved and working within the team has improved my confidence in both the work I do and my communication. I completed my 3 year apprenticeship and I am now a permanent member of the finance department."
