On Monday 30th March Marsden Building Society opened its doors to welcome the Garstang community the opportunity to grow their savings locally. Joined by the Deputy Mayor of Garstang, Lynn Harter and Liz Greenwood Fundraising Officer at North West Air Ambulance, the new team cut the ribbon to celebrate their new branch opening.
The Marsden is a mutual organisation that has been committed to delivering a reputation for high quality service, transparency and fairness for over 150 years. Rob Pheasey, Chief Executive said, “We are delighted to move to a new location and continue, as a local mutual, to extend our branch high street presence across the North West. As the largest building society in Lancashire we pride ourselves on traditional values with a modern outlook. We are focused on ensuring our members are supported with knowledge and financial trust that both themselves and their families may depend upon; whether that is saving for the future, buying a home or ensuring their loved ones are secure. Our connection with the town will also support our relationship with North West Air Ambulance too.”
The Marsden gives their savers the opportunity to open Affinity Accounts, in which the more they save, the more the Society donates to the chosen charity. Over the past few years, the Society has donated over £160,000 via this member led scheme.
Lynn Harter, Deputy Mayor said, “It is always good to see businesses opening up in Garstang, and I would like to congratulate Marsden Building Society for employing three local people to staff their new premises. I am sure their personal approach toward customers will be very well received here.”
Heather Crinion, Head of Operations said, ‘The Society places a great importance on the communities we work in, we’re a very people-centric company and like to make a difference. We are always looking for new ways to get involved within our local community. The team are looking forward to welcoming new and existing customers to the Marsden and meeting the residents of Garstang, we have had a very warm welcome so far.”
The Society is inviting members to visit their new branch and meet the new team giving residents of Garstang and the surrounding area an opportunity to grow their savings locally.
