On the 20th October, we raised £189 after taking part in Breast Cancer Now, wearing “all things pink”.
Employees across our eight branch locations and Principal Office took part in Breast Cancer Now’s national ‘Wear It Pink Day’ by sporting their “pink” outfit of choice and raising awareness for the charity.
Being involved in charity events is something we are proud to support and work hard to raise awareness for important causes in the community. Marsden staff worked hard across the day running sweepstakes in branch, staff raffles and donating to wear pink. Over the years, we have taken part in various fundraising activities such as coffee mornings, bake offs and non–uniform days, raising fantastic amounts in the process.
Breast Cancer Now supports the “Wear It Pink” campaign in October to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Breast Cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK. One in eight women in the UK will be affected in her lifetime and around 50,000 women are diagnosed every year. The campaign encourages fundraisers to “paint the town pink” to help support a great cause.
Susan Walne, Branch Manager in Burnley said, “This was a great way to raise money for a fantastic charity and our staff really enjoyed it too! We’re always delighted with the support we received from customers for our fundraising too with many showing their generosity and donating to support some fantastic causes.
