Over the last couple of months, our teams have been busy raising money for Pendleside Hospice. From Principal Office to our 8 branches across the region, we’d like to say a big thank you to all our customers and colleagues who helped us raise £1,217.08 for this very worthy cause.
Since November, our teams have been busy raising money in lots of different ways – selling cards and calendars in branch, raffling off tickets to win a fabulous chocolate bouquet and even offering a gift-wrapping service to colleagues to lend a hand over the festive period.
The Marsden has supported Pendleside Hospice for many years, through fundraising initiatives and donations from our affinity accounts. Aiming to enhance the quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses, the Hospice delivers specialist care that addresses not only their physical and physiological needs but their social and spiritual needs too.
The Hospice costs over £4 million each year to run, of which it gets 22% of grant funding from the NHS, meaning that it needs to raise over £3 million each year from charitable donations. Pendleside relies heavily on its local communities to continue delivering care.

“We support the Hospice in a number of ways, especially through our affinity savings accounts. These give members a chance to help their chosen charity because the more they save, the more Marsden donates. Since 2010, with the support of our members, we’ve donated over £118,000* to Pendleside Hospice, which has been used to help provide the care the community needs”
