We launched our Affinity accounts in 2007 as a way of raising money for local causes. For every £1 saved in a Marsden Affinity account, we pay a donation to your chosen Affinity partner. The more you save, the more we donate to them!
Although we aren’t currently opening new Affinity savings accounts, past issues have been popular with our members, and over the years, we’ve raised thousands of pounds to help support four charities across the region. You can learn more about them below.
Improving the quality of life for those with life-limiting illnesses.
Based in Burnley, Pendleside Hospice was founded in 1988 and exists to promote and enhance the quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses. They deliver free-of-charge specialist care to those who are sick, and provide moral support for their families. The cost of running this essential service is almost £4 million each year, with the majority of funds raised locally.
Taking advanced healthcare to the scene
Founded in 1999, the North West Air Ambulance takes advanced healthcare to the scene; reaching, treating, and transferring patients to hospital as quickly as possible. The charity is funded by the generosity of the public, which allows the NWAA to work 24/7 and attend over 2,000 emergencies in the region each year.
Supporting visually impaired people, their families and carers
Sight Advice was founded in 1956 to provide a variety of services to support visually impaired people in the South Lakes area of Cumbria. Working with 140 volunteers, the charity supports over 1,000 visually impaired people and provides practical and emotional support to their families and carers. Being an independent charity, it relies on donations, grants and legacies to maintain its services.
Engaging and supporting communities to raise aspirations and live healthier lives
Burnley FC in the Community believe in the immense power of football to transform people's lives for the better. They work hard every day to deliver their mission across the communities of Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire.
