Marsden Building Society has donated £7,514.18 to Pendleside Hospice, thanks to the continued support of customers saving through the Society’s Affinity Saver accounts.
The Marsden’s Affinity Saver accounts allow members to choose one of four charities to support, including Pendleside Hospice.
Each year, the Society donates 0.50% of the total average balance of all Affinity Saver accounts to the chosen charity. This means that the more money saved in those accounts, the more money the Society will donate.
This donation will play a crucial role in helping Pendleside Hospice to continue delivering compassionate care to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families across the Burnley and Pendle area.
Alongside its inpatient unit, the hospice provides a wide range of services, including hospice-at-home care, health and wellbeing support, including carers support groups, dementia and rehabilitation programmes. The hospice also provides bereavement support for anyone living in the local area.
Rob Pheasey, Chief Executive at Marsden Building Society, commented: “Pendleside Hospice delivers an invaluable service to people across our local communities. The care and support they provide make a profound difference to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses and to their families. We’re proud to support this vital charity and would like to thank our account holders for their continued support.”
Helen McVey, Chief Executive at Pendleside Hospice, added: “We are incredibly grateful to Marsden Building Society for their valuable support. It’ll cost £6.8 million to run Pendleside Hospice this year, and, with only 20% of our funding coming from the NHS, we rely so heavily on the support of our local community. This money will make a huge difference to our patients and their families.”
The Affinity Saver is available to new and existing Marsden Building Society members. Accounts can be opened in a branch.
