Marsden Building Society is celebrating receiving a Highly Commended recognition for Best Local Building Society at the ‘what MORTGAGE’ awards 2026.

Now in its 33rd year, the awards recognise the very best in the mortgage industry. All of the award winners and Highly Commended businesses are chosen solely by consumers, based on their own experiences.

On Thursday 9 July, organisations from across the industry came together to celebrate this year’s winners at London’s Kia Oval.

The Marsden is proud to celebrate its recognition as a leading local building society, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supporting homeowners, savers and communities across Lancashire. By maintaining a strong community presence and a member-first approach, the Society continues to demonstrate the value of mutuality.

Rob Pheasey, Chief Executive of Marsden Building Society, said: "We’re delighted to be Highly Commended for the Best Local Building Society. As a mutual, our purpose is to help our members achieve their financial goals while supporting the communities we serve. This recognition reflects the trust our members place in us and the hard work of colleagues across the Society who consistently deliver outstanding service.”

Founded in 1860, the Marsden is Lancashire’s largest building society dedicated to providing specialist mortgage solutions and helping members save for their future
