At the Marsden, we understand every business has unique financial goals. To support you, we offer a range of business deposit accounts that could help you save strategically and reach those goals.
Business deposit notice accounts
What is a business deposit notice savings account?
A business deposit notice savings account requires you to give advance notice before you can withdraw the funds to your business. This time can vary depending on the account’s terms. For example, our business deposit notice accounts range from 35 days to 95 days' notice. This account could be ideal if your business doesn’t require immediate access to funds but doesn’t want to lock the money away long-term.
Key features:
- Advanced notice is required to withdraw money
- Variable rates of interest
- Receive interest once a year
What are the benefits of business deposit notice savings accounts?
- Although variable and can be reduced, interest rates could be slightly higher on this type of account, as you agree to lock funds away for a period of time.
- Depending on the terms of your account, you could add additional top-ups to the balance, helping you earn more interest over time.
What are the considerations of business deposit notice savings accounts?
- With a variable rate of interest, it can be harder to predict what the total amount saved will be once the funds can be withdrawn.
- Tax isn’t automatically deducted from the interest paid on this account. The receipt of gross interest by a company will not prevent the interest from being liable for corporation tax.
For information regarding tax, please contact HMRC.
Business deposit easy access accounts
What is a business deposit easy access savings account?
A business deposit easy access account allows your business to access money whenever it’s needed. This allows you to still earn interest on your money without locking it away for a period of time.
Key features:
- Flexible management - deposit or withdraw funds at any time
- Variable rates of interest
What are the benefits of business deposit easy access savings accounts?
- There’s no fixed term, so you’re able to access your funds when your business needs them.
- Businesses can earn interest on surplus cash, rather than leaving it in a non-interest-bearing current account.
What are the considerations of business deposit easy access savings accounts?
- A variable rate of interest means the rate could increase or decrease.
- As this type of business savings account doesn’t require you to lock your savings away, the interest rate can be slightly lower than other types of savings accounts.
Business deposit fixed rate bonds
What is a business deposit fixed rate bond?
A fixed rate bond offers businesses a fixed rate of interest for a set term. This means you cannot access the funds for your business during the fixed period of the product.
Key features:
- Fixed rate of interest
- Interest can be paid annually or monthly (product dependent)
- No withdrawals, early closure or further deposits prior to maturity
What are the benefits of business deposit fixed rate bonds?
- With a fixed rate of interest over a set period of time, you’re more likely to know how much interest your business will earn on your deposit.
- As your business can’t access its funds for a specific period, the interest on fixed rate bonds may be higher in comparison to other savings accounts.
What are the considerations of business deposit fixed rate bonds?
- There are no withdrawals, early closure or further deposits before maturity. More details can be found on the product specific terms and conditions.
- The interest rate will be fixed for the duration of the product term, so won't change if interest rates become less or more favourable externally.
Business deposit affinity accounts
Some of our business deposit accounts are affinity accounts, meaning your savings are supporting the local community, at no extra cost to you or your business. Each year, the Marsden will donate 0.25% of the total average balance of all business deposit affinity accounts to the Community Foundation for Lancashire’s Red Rose Responding Fund, which supports the mental health and well-being of those in our region. This means that the more money saved in those accounts, the more money the Society will donate.
